Our
first Mexico Servant Event was spent working on the
Medical Clinic at Anapra, a poor community that sprang up
on the desert west of Ciudad Juarez. Most of the
homes were constructed of old shipping pallets, covered
with cardboard, plastic, and tar paper.
We built interior walls in the
clinic, constructed a roof connecting the clinic and the
pastor's residence, and built playground equipment for the
neighborhood children.
The highlight of the event was
the decision to sponsor a young boy, Luis, in his
secondary education.
